Oh my, Lazuli!

img_7141He was very flighty so I took all these pictures through the closed door.  It is the first time we’ve seen a Lazuli Bunting at our feeders.  Just ne time last spring I spotted one in a treetop across the street in Lithia Park.  They don’t nest down here in the canyon as far as I know.

Azure head and nape with an indigo streak around the eye.  A warm orange chest and gray wings with a bold white stripe.  Mr. Lazuli is a looker.  Like to see him and the male BH Grosbeak together on the feeder.  He’s a migratory bird that has recently returned from warmer climes.
